DIOCESE OF KUMASI TO HOLD SPECIAL SYNOD TO ELECT BISHOP CO-ADJUTOR

The Diocese of Kumasi is set to hold it's special Synod on Friday,28th of August,2020 to elect a Bishop Co-adjutor. The Synod will begin with a High Pontifical Mass for the invocation of the Holy Spirit.

There are Seven Candidates,out of which the vetting committee will bring out at least Two(2) Candidates or at most Three(3) Candidates to be "voted on".

They are

1.Very. Rev. Oscar Christian Amoah

2.Rev. Canon Yaw Barnie Poakwa

3.Rev.  Canon Francis Sencherey

4.Rev. Fr. Lawyer Francis Tetteh Buer (Esq)

5.Rev. Canon. Michael Opoku Twumasi

6.Ven. Dr. David Okyere Korankye

7.Rev. Canon James Nuamah

All synod delegates from all houses;House of Bishops,House of Clergy and House of the Laity are expected to mandatorily grace the Synod.


A Co-Adjutor Bishop is an Assistant bishop with the right of succession upon the resignation or Retirement of the diocesan bishop. Before a bishop coadjutor is elected, the diocesan bishop must consent to such an election and state the duties which will be assigned to the bishop coadjutor when duly ordained and consecrated.  (Episcopal Church Dictionary)

Prof. Daniel Yinka Sarfo;the Anglican Archbishop of the Internal Province of Ghana has urged the christendom to invite the Messiah into their lives,for he was the only being who could restore and restitute  lives.Speaking as the Principal Preacher on the 8th Sunday after Trinity at the St. Cyprains Cathedral,He said "When we feel that our lives have deteriorated,dwindled and have lost all hope,The best thing to do is to invite Jesus Christ into our lives for he is the only one who can give us back what we have lost"

DIOCESE OF ACCRA ORDAINS EIGHT DEACONS INTO PRIESTHOOD


The Anglican Diocese of Accra yesterday,held its ordination service, August 8th 2020 amidst the world pandemic at the Cathedral Church of the Most Holy Trinity, Accra.

Led by the Lord Bishop of Accra, Rt. Rev'd Dr. Daniel Sylvanus Mensah Torto, and supported by the former Anglican Archbishop of the Province of West Africa, the Most Reverend Robert Garshong Allotey Okine and the Most Rev’d. DR. Justice Ofei Akrofi, former Archbishop of the Church of the Province of West Africa and Bishop of Accra saw eight male priests being ordained into priesthood.

In his sermon, the Dean of the Cathedral Church of the Most Holy Trinity, Very Rev’d. George  Neequaye who doubled as the Retreat Conductor urged the new priests to be dedicated to the work of God and win souls for Christ.
