Very, Rev’d Dr. Joseph Osei was  born on 13th July at Tanoso-Kumasi..

He has worked as parish priest,Internal Auditor,Chaplain for students in Non-Anglican institutions,Missions Director;member of the finance board,member of several committees,Executive Archdeacon of Manhyia,Dean of St Nicholas Seminary and now the Dean of St. Cyprains Cathedral..


He is married to Mrs. Ann Osei and blessed with eight Children….

DIOCESE OF KUMASI GOES ‘BLACK’ AMID PASSING OF REV’D CANON PIEH.

 

Sad news hit the Diocese of Kumasi on the eve of 28th November as one of its Priest, Rev’d Canon Daniel Kwabena Pieh passed on. The Late ‘Canon Pieh’ as affectionately called is a product of St. Nicholas Seminary and was the Parish Priest of St. Annes Anglican Parish, Ashtown till his demise. He was designated as Canon onto the stall of Philip Quacoe in December last year. He is widely known for his love and passion for the Anglican Church.

Led by Rt. Rev’d Oscar Christian Amoah(Bishop of Kumasi),A requiem Mass was held on Tuesday 7th December, In memory of the late Canon.

Rev’d Canon Duah (Priest Assisting, St. Annes Parish), at the homily eulogized the Late Canon as a soldier of Christ who served God diligently and described his demise as a call to a higher service. He urged the mourners present to be ready for the changing scenes of life. “Storms of Life are Unavoidable; we must be ready for it. We may be forced to replace faith with fear when confronted with the worst; Jesus must be our stronghold in such times”.  Rev’d Canon Duah.

The burial arrangements for the Late Canon has been slated from 7th to 11th January, 2022

He left behind his wife and two children. He was 59.

May his Soul rest in perfect Peace.

i will continue to support you with my experience and experstise--Archbishop Emeritus Sarfo to his Successors


Archbishop Emeritus Sarfo (former Archbishop  of CPWA,IPG and Bishop of Kumasi) has assured his successors that he will continue to support and assist them with his expertise and experiences gained during his tenure. In his sermon at the grand valedictory service held on the 14th February at the Cathedral of St. Cyprian the martyr, Archbishop Sarfo congratulated his successors;Rt. Rev. Cyril Ben Smith(archbishop -elect of IPG) and Rt. Rev. Oscar Christian Amoah(Coadjutor Bishop of Kumasi Diocese) and assured them that he will gladly assist them whenever the need arose.

Diocese of Kumasi badges 105 members ; honors 6 parishes for exceptional contributions.

The Diocese of Kumasi honored 105  members with the 'Bishops Badge of Honor' and citated for their exceptional contributions to the diocese. The awardee's were shortlisted on recommendation from the Parochial Church Council(PCC) in the various parishes. Six(6) parishes; St. Cyprians Cathedral, St. Pauls Parish, Suntreso, St. Mary's Parish and three others were honored for selflessly beefing up the financial status of the Diocese.

At the Sermon, The Most. Rev. Prof. Daniel Yinka Sarfo urged the congregants to remain selfless to the Lord. He congratulated the award-designate and asked that they continue to support and contribute tirelessly to development of the Diocese for their primus reward will be given them by God. He said;

 The church is for Christ and he has called us to do his work diligently. The church must remain in unity so the manifestation of the holy spirit will be revealed in us to do his work.

Grand Valedictory Service for Archbishop Sarfo 'pinned' to February 14th.

 

A grand send-off ceremony will be held on Sunday 14th February, to honor the Most Rev. Prof. Daniel Yinka Sarfo as he retires from the office of  Archbishop of the Internal Province of Ghana and the Diocesan Bishop of Kumasi respectively. The Service is timed 9am and will come of at the Cathedral of St. Cyprain the Matyr,kumasi Ghana.


He has been the Metropolitan Archbishop of IPG since September 2012, and was Archbishop Primate of the Church of the Province of West Africa. (CPWA), since 13 March 2014 until 3 March 2019.

 He was ordained as a deacon on 26 August 1979, and as a priest on 14 September 1980. He was a parish priest until his appointment to be archdeacon of Suyani in 1986, and became a Canon of the St, Cyprains cathedral in 1994. He was a forces chaplain in the Ghanaian Army, holding the rank of Major when he was elected the third bishop of the Diocese of Kumasi on 20 November 1998. He was consecrated on 14 March 1999. Sarfo was elected the first Metropolitan of the Internal Province of Ghana on its creation on 29 September 2012. He automatically succeeded Solomon Tilewa Johnson, after his unexpected death, as Archbishop Primate of CPWA, by virtue of being the surviving metropolitan (according to the 2012 adaptation of the CPWA constitution). He was consecrated the 10th Primate of the Church of the Province of West Africa on 13 March 2014.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Cyril Ben-Smith elected as Next Archbishop of Ghana(IPG)


At the special synod for the election of the Next Archbishop of the Internal Province of Ghana this morning..Rt. Rev. Dr. Ben Smith came out as the 'most preferred' by the house of Bishop's,clergy and laity.

The candidates were the Rt. Rev. Dr. Daniel Torto (Bishop of Accra) and Rt. Rev. Ben-Smith(Bishop of Asante Mampong)..
The total number of eligible voters was thirty three(33)....The Rt. Rev. Torto pulled fifteen votes(15) votes while Rt. Rev. Ben-Smith won with eighteen (18) votes...

In his acceptance speech,The Rt. Rev. Dr. Cyril Ben-Smith thanked God for his Grace and thanked the electorates for voting for him...He urged that members present continue to live in peace and harmony...

The ANGLICAN NEWS GHANA has described the electoral process as a smooth and peaceful one..we congratulate the Archbishop-elect and pray for smooth transition...
