The Right Reverend Oscar Christian Amoah has paid a courtesy call on the Professor (Mrs) Rita Akosua Dickson, Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), in Kumasi.
The visit afforded the Diocesan the opportunity to discuss issues of mutual interest especially the Anglican Hostel at KNUST.
He congratulated the Vice-Chancellor on her appointment, and commended her for her efforts in promoting academic excellence and ensuring that the University was the most preferred in Africa.
The Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Mrs) Rita Akosua Dickson, who is an old student of St. Monica Secondary school, expressed appreciation for the visit and commended the contribution of the Anglican Church towards the growth and development of the University.
She acknowledged the role the Anglican Hostel had played in helping to reduce the accommodation challenges the university was faced with.
The Vice-Chancellor further urged the Church to constantly maintain the facility for it to always be of high standard.
The University, she stated, was working hard to improve the road network to the hostel.
Bishop Oscar led the team to sing A&M 271 and prayed for the Vice-Chancellor, Management and the University community.
The Bishop was accompanied by his chaplain, Rev’d Fr. Richard Boateng; Rev’d Canon Francis Senchere, Priest-in-Charge, Archbishop Thomas Cranmer Anglican Church (ATCAC), KNUST and Headmaster of Kumasi Anglican SHS; Rev’d Prof. Grace Nkansah Asante, Priest Assisting, ATCAC and the Head of the Economics Department, KNUST; Dr. Paul Kwadwo Addo, a Parishioner at ATCAC and Head, Institutional Planning, KNUST.
