Diocese of Kumasi installs two(2) into the Order of Canons


 


 The Diocese of Kumasi,led by the Most. Rev. Prof. Daniel Yinka Sarfo and assisted by the Rt. Rev. Oscar Christian Amoah installed two Canons Yesterday at the Cathedral of St. Cyprain the Matyr.

The Canon designate were Rev. Fr. Prince yeboah and Rev. Fr. Daniel Kwabena Pieh.

The Chief installer was the Dean Emeritus Very. Rev. Charles Akwasi Affanie(RTD).

Rev. Fr. Daniel Pieh was installed in the Stall of Philip Quacoe and Rev. Fr. Prince Yeboah in the stall of St. Tertullian.

At the Sermon, Rt. Rev. Oscar Christian Amoah quizzed the Canon Designate on their objectives and visions for the Diocese and urged that they assisted the Cathedral Chapter and the Diocese as whole with their expertise and specializations in the ministry.

Kumasi Mothers Union to hold End of Year Thanksgiving Service


 The Mothers Union of the Kumasi Diocese is set to hold an End of Year Thanksgiving Service at the St. Cyprains Cathedral, Kumasi on Saturday,19th December,2020


The programme is themed to Giving thanks to God for his grace and favor throughout the year..

The principal speaker will be Mother Kate Laryea of the ArchBishop Thomas Cramer Anglican Church,KNUST.

The service is expected to preluded with Thanksgiving and Adorational songs..

Diocese of Accra to Ordain Seven (7) Ordinands into the Order of Diaconate


 

The Diocese of Accra is set to usher Seven(7) Ordinands into ministry tomorrow Saturday,28th November,2020 under the auspices of the Rt. Rev. Daniel Torto(Diocesan Bishop Of Accra) at Christ the King Anglican Church,Sakumono.

The Service will start at 9am preluded with  auras of invoking the holy spirit to descend on ordinands even before 'Hands' are laid upon them.

God has called you to guard the Faith,unity and discipline of the Church~~Rt. Rev. Baffoe tells Coadjutor Bishop

 
The Consecration and Episcopal ordination of the Very. Rev. Oscar Christian Amoah came off yesterday,22nd November,2020 at the Cathedral of St. Cyprian the martyr.
 
 
The Rt. Rev. Dr. Victor Reginald Atta Baffoe(Diocesan Bishop of Cape coast) during the sermon told the Coadjutor Bishop-elect;

The Office of the Bishop is to guard the faith and the unity of the people.

Your predecessors have labored and we share the glory,ours is to do exploit and add to their gains.

God has called you to lead the Diocese from grace to grace,from strength to strength and from glory to glory. To carry the mantle of Bishop is not easy,it demands all our energies,time,resources, comfort and  full commitment.The power you will receive in this ceremony is to lead God's people,guard the faith of the church.The power we receive during ordination gives us the might to do the will of God.

Challenges are bound to come and when it gets there,look up unto God and no weapon functioning against you shall  prosper.We have all it takes to lead the people.To be a Bishop,you must give what you have just as God asked Moses what he had in his hand.The Lord who has called you will never leave or abandon you.

 


The Ceremony was graced by dignitaries from and beyond the province of West Africa.

The Enthronement of the Coadjutor Bishop is expected to take place in the early months of next year.

Sing Hymns with Understanding --Hymnologist urges Anglicans



Rev. Canon Brobbey Mensah,a very popular hymnologist has urged anglicans to sing hymns with understanding and in meditative posture.According to him,Hymns are biblically based,hence must be seen as the words inspired by God. The stories behind these hymns on how they were written only reflect and demonstrate  God;s deliverance,power and might over the Earth.



Rev. Canon Brobbey Mensah is known for promoting the stories and meaning of hymns.One of his recent programs was "Hymns and their meaning” a virtual concert which he had with the St. Cyprains Cathedral Mass Choir and many others with notable choirs.

DIOCESE OF KUMASI TO HOLD SPECIAL SYNOD TO ELECT BISHOP CO-ADJUTOR

The Diocese of Kumasi is set to hold it's special Synod on Friday,28th of August,2020 to elect a Bishop Co-adjutor. The Synod will begin with a High Pontifical Mass for the invocation of the Holy Spirit.

There are Seven Candidates,out of which the vetting committee will bring out at least Two(2) Candidates or at most Three(3) Candidates to be "voted on".

They are

1.Very. Rev. Oscar Christian Amoah

2.Rev. Canon Yaw Barnie Poakwa

3.Rev.  Canon Francis Sencherey

4.Rev. Fr. Lawyer Francis Tetteh Buer (Esq)

5.Rev. Canon. Michael Opoku Twumasi

6.Ven. Dr. David Okyere Korankye

7.Rev. Canon James Nuamah

All synod delegates from all houses;House of Bishops,House of Clergy and House of the Laity are expected to mandatorily grace the Synod.


A Co-Adjutor Bishop is an Assistant bishop with the right of succession upon the resignation or Retirement of the diocesan bishop. Before a bishop coadjutor is elected, the diocesan bishop must consent to such an election and state the duties which will be assigned to the bishop coadjutor when duly ordained and consecrated.  (Episcopal Church Dictionary)
